Laser hair removal provides a suitable option to permanently remove unwanted hair when you are not satisfied with the results of shaving or waxing. Laser hair removal is one of the most common cosmetic procedures; it works by concentrating light beams on hair follicles and destroying them.
The laser can also be used to remove unwanted hair from all areas of the body, such as the face, legs, arms, underarms, lower area, and other body areas.
The laser is one of the most efficient hair-removal methods; its effect is long-lasting and can remove unwanted hair from all areas of the body.
Laser removes hair permanently in a relatively short time, depending on the area being treated. For example, the lower lip area needs a few seconds, while the larger areas of the body, such as the legs and the back, need about an hour.
The laser hair removal requires several sessions to ensure permanent hair removal, and it does not exceed eight sessions.
Laser hair removal is less painful than waxing or threading. The laser specialist applies an an esthetic cream on the skin before the treatment to reduce the stinging sensation with every pulse of the laser.
Laser hair removal helps to smoothen the skin and enhance its beauty. The laser is safe for hair removal in sensitive areas such as the area around the mouth and eyes.
The side effects of laser hair removal are rare and not permanent. These side effects are limited to mild redness, pain, or swelling, and they wear off quickly.
The Candela GentleMax Pro is a cutting-edge device designed for professional laser hair removal treatments. It utilizes a unique combination of two powerful laser technologies: Alexandrite and Nd: YAG. These two lasers can be adjusted to different wavelengths, allowing for effective and safe hair removal on a wide range of skin types.
The Alexandrite laser is known for its precision in targeting melanin, the pigment responsible for hair color. It emits a specific wavelength of light that is highly absorbed by melanin, effectively destroying the hair follicles while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. This laser is particularly effective for lighter skin tones and finer hair types.
The Nd: YAG laser, on the other hand, has a longer wavelength that can penetrate deeper into the skin. This makes it suitable for darker skin tones and thicker hair types, as it can target the hair follicles without causing damage to the surrounding tissue.
The GentleMax Pro features a patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD), which sprays a cooling burst of cryogen onto the skin milliseconds before each laser pulse. This helps to minimize discomfort and protect the skin from potential thermal damage, ensuring a more comfortable and safe treatment experience.
With its versatile technology, the Candela GentleMax Pro offers fast and efficient hair removal treatments for various body areas, including the face, legs, underarms, and lower area and provides long-lasting results and high patient satisfaction.
Cynosure’s laser hair removal system utilizes a combination of different laser technologies, including Alexandrite, Nd: YAG, and diode lasers. These lasers can be adjusted to specific wavelengths and settings, allowing for precise targeting of hair follicles while minimizing damage to surrounding skin tissue.
The Alexandrite laser technology in Cynosure devices is particularly effective for individuals with lighter skin tones and fine hair. It emits a specific wavelength that is highly absorbed by melanin, the pigment responsible for hair color, thereby disabling the hair follicles and impeding future hair growth.
For individuals with darker skin tones or coarser hair, the Nd: YAG and diode lasers in Cynosure systems are utilized. These lasers have longer wavelengths that can penetrate deeper into the skin, enabling effective hair removal while minimizing the risk of adverse effects.
Cynosure’s laser hair removal device incorporates advanced cooling mechanisms, including built-in cooling systems or integrated contact cooling, to enhance patient comfort during treatment. This helps to alleviate any potential discomfort or heat-related sensations that may occur during the procedure.
With its diverse range of laser technologies and customizable settings, Cynosure device provides the flexibility to tailor treatments to the unique needs of each patient. This ensures optimal results and high patient satisfaction, making Cynosure a popular choice for people seeking a comfortable laser hair removal experience.
The procedure begins with adjusting the laser machine according to the color, density, and location of the hair and to the color of the skin as well, then a cold gel or a special cooling cream is applied on the skin to protect the outer layer of the skin, and allow the laser light to penetrate the skin. The laser specialist will direct a pulse of laser light to the skin and monitor the area that was exposed to the light pulse for several minutes to make sure the settings are correct and that no unwanted reaction occurs.
After completing the laser hair removal session, apply ice packs, cold water, or anti-inflammatory creams to the treated area to relieve the irritation and discomfort. The date of the next session is set, usually after four to six weeks, and these sessions are repeated until the hair is permanently removed.
There are several tips to follow after the treatment, including:
Depending on your hair type and how many sessions you have undergone, our experts will probably use the Candela Gentle Max Pro for your hair removal. We chose the Candela Gentle Max Pro premium laser as its cooling technology offers unparalleled comfort and safety levels, while achieving very efficient results in the shortest time possible for a laser.
The laser generates sufficient heat at the hair follicle to destroy it and prevent future growth. The Dynamic Cooling Device (CDC) sprays a cooling burst of cryogen to ensure the safety of the skin and to prevent pain.
Before: You should avoid waxing, shaving or other traditional hair-removal methods for six weeks prior to treatment. Also be sure to avoid sun exposure for two weeks prior to treatment.
After: You should avoid the sun for two weeks and cover treated area with sun block when you are outside during the day.
Treatment sessions vary in length and can be as short as 15 minutes for small areas, or 90 minutes for full-body hair removal. It usually takes 4-6 sessions to achieved the desired results. One session is not enough because, while the laser destroys hair follicles in their active growth, not all of the hair will be in its growth stage as the hair-growth cycle occurs in three stages.
Discomfort will be almost completely alleviated by the cooling CDC technology. CDC also helps eliminate side effects. Possible side effects of hair removal are minor and include erythema and skin redness, usually lasting only a few hours.
